We are finishing up our ABC books during our writers' workshop time. In reading, we are learning how schema (what we know) helps us understand what we are reading. We learned that if don't have schema for a book or subject, listening to the experiences of others can help build our schema.
In math we worked on geometry and algebra with pattern blocks.
Tomorrow we have P.E. and music. Be sure and wear appropriate shoes or have shoes here.
I want to encourage all parents to take their child to the Bartlett Library this weekend and sign up for a library card, if you don't already have one! Dr. Torres is encouraging 100% of our students have a library card. It's free and an easy way to encourage reading. We will also be visiting the library later in the school year.
