Sorry for the lack of posts...I've had computer issues! My power cord died and I was low on battery when it happened, so I didn't have a laptop until I could get a new power cord. Today it arrived and I'm back in business.
So to bring you up-to-date, here are some pictures and videos:
April 30, 2010: Elsa is our child of the day. We also said goodbye to Ms. Engelhardt.
Monday, May 3: Gavin reading Tight Times. We read the book Arrowhawk as we continued to learn about Determining Importance. In writers' workshop, we continued to take notes on our research topics. Some students began writing their expository piece. In math workshop, 1st graders learned about 3-D shapes and 2nd graders began a measurement unit.
Tuesday May 4:
Mia was our child of the day. She read Weights and Measures which tied right in with what 2nd graders are studying in math.
We completed a Story Star to help us summarize our reading of Arrowhawk. We also worked on our research and expository writing projects. 1st graders learned more about 3D shapes as 2nd graders worked on measurement and fractions.
And that brings us up to date. Have a GREAT night and don't forget to READ....READ..,.READ!!!!
