Wonderful Wednesday

Very, very, busy day!

Ryan was our child of the day and he did a geat job reading the book, Irma's Sandwich Shop. Look on the website later tonight and listen as he reads!

Ryan also published a story: The Snow Day. Go the website, click on student writing, then his name, and listen as he reads his story. Great job!

Today was Nick's birthday (Happy Birthday!) and he ALSO has a published story on the website. Take a look at his story, My Favorite Day. You will enjoy it!

We learned today that questions give the reader a purpose for reading. We reviewed all our questions for The Sweetest Fig, then I reread the story to them. We then began the process of answering our questions, which we will finish tomorrow. Sometimes we have to infer an answer, sometimes the answer is right there in the book, sometimes we have to use our schema (or someone else's) and sometimes we just don't know. We'll talk more about that tomorrow.

In writing we worked on sentence fluency with "In like a ______, out like a ____." class book. Interesting topics!

Math was whole class today as we began collecting data that we will use tomorrow to determine the median.

We also went to the library!
