Summertime Reading: For PARENTS!!!!

Looking for ways to excite your child in reading...make it different from regular, school year reading time:

1. Read about your vacation destination before your go.
2. Read about something your want to do together: baking...biking...hiking...gardening...MORE!
3. Read a book about local history and go to a museum.
4. Read a book that's now a movie and go see the movie!
5. Host a potluck or mid summer party and after dinner, pull out a book to read in the shade or tell around the campfire stories.

Use reading as a way to reconnect with your kids. Talking about a story is still one of the BEST ways to open doors that might be closed when schedules are hectic.

And just think of the GREAT memories they can ADD to their ME box to share this fall.
