January Mystery Readers and Tuesday Tales

Enjoy the video of our January Mystery Readers. It's also posted on our Wiki, along with previous mystery readers.

Aayush was our child of the day and he read a sports biography of Michael Jordan. Thanks for sharing...we really enjoyed it!

We also enjoyed Simi sharing what she learned from reading a book about the Bill of Rights. It fit right in with what we are learning about the beginnings of our country. Thanks, Simi!

We continued learning about writing persuasive letters today. We looked at the letters in the book we read yesterday, I Wanna an Iguana. We looked at the reasons that the character used to change his mothers' mind. Which reasons were the most important? Then we went back and revised our letters.

In reading we looked at our narrative non fiction book, Antaratica. We concentrated on one paragraph and what facts we could infer. We'll continue with this tomorrow.

In math, 1st graders worked on number sense and 2nd graders worked on 3D shapes.

We will count our Lincoln pennies tomorrow. We would love it if you could send in your remaining pennies in your loose change tomorrow morning. Thank you!

Stay warm!
