Monday Marvels!
I missed A.J.'s reading of Lizard Loses His Tail as our Child of the Day Friday. Everyone said he did a GREAT job!
Simi was our child of the day today and she read Lucy Morgan. She did a GREAT mob too! Today was Simi's first day back after being out sick. Welcome Back!
We began learning about writing persuasive letters today. We read I Wanna Iguana and tomorrow we will use graphic organizers to help us break down how the letter was written.
We activated our schema about Antarctica and read about penguins there. We read the narrative non fiction book, Antarctica, and used our schema and text clues to make inferences. We will continue with this tomorrow.
We learned our new word wall words (check out spelling city) and spent time on our Words Their Way sorts.
In math, 1st graders learned about FACT POWER and 2nd graders learned about 3D shapes.
Library is tomorrow. Be sure and bring in your books.
All students can now update the wiki with their reading responses now. I've really enjoyed reading about their books and then asking them questions about their books on the wiki. Make sure everyone updates their reading log daily.
