Our Classroom Promise
Our Promise to Each Other
In Mrs. Stringham's Community of Learners, we promise to work together and help each other learn, just like Swimmy and the red fish. We will show each other that we care by sharing, speaking kindly, and using our manners. We will be "bucket-fillers!" We will appreciate others hard work and remember that mistakes are learning opportunities. We know it is o.k. to be unique like Woolbur and that our best"ish" work is just fine. We promise to STOP when someone says STOP! This is who we are, even when no one is watching.
It's easy! Just pick a book to read to the class. It could be favorite of your childs or a favorite of yours when you were a child. Sign in at the office, tell them you are a mystery reader and they will annouce you to the classroom. The students wait in anticipation, trying to guess who it could be. Imagine their surprise when you walk in!
Tell the class why you picked the book, read the book, let us take a few pictures, and that's it! But, imagine the joy you have brought to your child!
If you would like to be a mystery reader, just send me an email, a note, or give me a call and we'll set it up
I'm married and have 2 daughters. We have 4 cats: cats rule, dogs drool! I have a masters degree in early childhood education. I have been teaching nine years and every year is the BEST year yet! I LOVE teaching in a multiage environment.
