Monday Marvels!

We welcomed Ms. Engelhardt from Judson University today. She will be a student teacher in the classroom until April 30. Welcome!

Mia was our Child of the Day and she did a GREAT job reading with fluency: Substitute Teacher Plans. Thanks, Mia!

We spent time this morning working on test taking strategies then reviewed our new word wall words. Be sure to practice them using Spelling City!

We looked at determining importance in non fiction by using a Time For Kids about Mexico. We are learning how to put important facts in our own words.

In writing we worked on writing letters.

After lunch and recess we went to the library. We returned to the room for math.
First graders practiced using the addition/subtraction grid for subtraction practice. 2nd graders worked on mental math playing Basketball Addition. Play this game at home on the Everyday Math games site.

Have a GREAT evening and don't forget to READ....READ....READ!!!!
