Tuesday AND Wednesday Wow's!

Be sure and click on the link to the U-46 district website. There are many forums coming up that parents of students in U-46 should attend. You will find all the information on the website.

I'm sorry I was unable to post yesterday but here are the pictures of our wonderful students as child of the day. Jason read yesterday and Jefferson read today. Thank you!

After we worked on our word wall words, we reread the book How Many Days to America and began to answer some of our questions. We have answered all the questions that have an answer explicitly stated in the text. We know tomorrow we have to go back and have a discussion to infer meaning with all our unanswered questions.

Our writing lesson today was on organization, specifically, endings. We read The Trip Back Home and saw how the author wrote so the ending was just like the beginning. We know we can do that too in our writing.

After lunch and recess, we read Help Me, Mr. Mutt! and saw that we can write letters to characters as well. We learned we could write to Little Red Riding Hood, as an example, and ask why didn't she know the wolf was pretending to be her grandmother. We could give her some advice. I'm looking forward to students trying this out in their Daily Pages.

In math, 1st graders took a unit 4 checking progress assessment and 2nd graders worked on geometry.

Tomorrow we have art. Have a GREAT night and don't forget to READ....READ...READ!!!!
