We began our day with Art and ELL enrichment time, then returned to the classroom for math. 1st graders worked on number sense and attributes. 2nd graders worked on number sense and equivalent fractions.
We continued to work on determining importance by reading the book Tops and Bottoms. We learned that authors sometimes leave seeds of wisdom in books, even if the book is a funny or silly book. We then worked on our Readers' Theater and biographies.
Today we began learning about poetry and how poets look at life differently than other authors. Then students had a go at writing their first poem.
