Monday Marvels

What a busy day! Francis got us started with a funny book: The Little Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie and then leading us through the classroom promise and calendar.

Gavin's mom was our mystery reader today. She read one of Gavin's favorite books: When Charlie McButton Lost Power. I know I really enjoyed it! It's a fun, fun, book!

In math workshop today, 1st graders learned about 3D shapes. 2nd graders worked on fraction number stories.

We continued on with determining importance as a reading strategy by moving on to non fiction. We created a VENN diagram comparing and contrasting fiction and non fiction books.

In writers' workshop we wrote more poems by looking more at the language of poetry. We also had our new word wall words to learn.

Tomorrow we go to the library.
