Two exciting events today:
First, Branden's Dad was our Mystery Reader today! He read to us, The Web Files. But, he also told us all about being a police officer! Thanks for stopping in!
We also had a performance by the ESO (Elgin Symphony Orchestra) String Quartet! What an honor it was to listen to this wonderful group perform music from some American composers: Copeland, Gershwin, Sousa, Bernstein, and more!

We are beginning a unit on schema (what you know) and how it helps us as a reader. We also wrote in our ABC books. This is the last week for ABC books, although, as we move forward, if they wish to write their topic as an ABC book, and it works, that's GREAT...we are authors!
In math 1st graders reviewed temperature and 2nd graders reviewed the <.>.= signs.
Tomorrow is library. Please be sure and bring your books!
