Tuesday Tales

Monday, with all the excitement, I lost track of time, and Bela did not get a chance to read to the class. She read Green Eyes to us this morning and did a FANTASTIC job. Klara, our child of the day for today, read Fun with Mo and Toots, and also did a GREAT job.

We also sang Happy Birthday to Kendall today. She passed out treats for everyone to take home! Happy Birthday, Kendall!

We are finishing up our ABC books and they are looking great. I'm looking forward to publishing them all. In reading, as part of our learning about how schema helps us as readers, how our experiences contribute to our understanding of books, we each wrote two post its of experiences we have had with our grandparents. Tomorrow, I will read the book Hello Goodbye Window, and we will look at these experiences and decide which ones help us and which ones won't...and what do we do with those "reminders"!

In math, both 1st and 2nd graders completed unit 1 checking progress activities. These will be coming home shortly with the first math progress report.
